Busta Rhymes and public places doesn’t get along quite well. In recent news, Rhymes was arrested for throwing a protein drink at a gym member. The 43-year-old rapper, whose real name is Trevor Tahiem Smith Jr., was taken into custody from Steel Gym in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood.
He was charged with assault in the second degree after the 17-ounce strawberry drink struck the anonymous man. The fight between Rhymes and the alleged victim reportedly began the day before when the rapper-actor was told he couldn’t film his workout routine inside the fitness center.
Per the New York Police Department, the cardboard Lean Body protein drink struck the employee in the back of the head. He didn’t sustain any serious injuries but walked away with “lacerations on his head.”
He was released from Manhattan Criminal Court early Thursday morning.
