Hip-Hop Community Mourns Death of Rapper Chinx on Social Media & French Montana Finally Reacts

The hip-hop community is in mourning following the death of rapper Chinx, who was killed in a drive-by shooting on Sunday, May 17, in Queens, N.Y.

The 31-year-old rapper was a member of French Montana’s Coke Boys.

“Chinx was one of the most talented, professional and determined rappers this industry had to offer,” Chinx’s representative Chanel Rae wrote in a statement. “Further more, he was a friend.”

Details about Chinx’s murder are still developing, but TMZ reports that police found the rapper and a second victim inside a car at around 4 a.m. on Sunday. He was shot multiple times in the torso.

Numerous hip-hop artists — including Meek Mill, Mac Miller, Lil Durk and Wiz Khalifa — shared their condolences for Chinx on social media following news of his passing. See their tributes here.
