Vanilla Ice’s rap sheet just got a little longer. On Wednesday, Feb. 18, the rapper-turned-reality TV star, 47, was arrested for burglary in Lantana, Fla., Lantana PD confirms to Us Weekly.
According to police, Ice (real name Robert Van Winkle) is being charged with burglary and grand theft in connection with an incident that happened between December 2014 and February 2015 in Lantana, where he was renovating a home as part of his DIY Network show The Vanilla Ice Project.
A Lantana PD spokesperson tells Us that several items were stolen from a house in foreclosure near the one that the “Ice, Ice Baby” rapper was working on. The items included furniture, bicycles, and a pool heater.
Authorities recovered the stolen property after obtaining a search warrant for the TV host’s Palm Beach County house. “During the investigation, it was determined Robert Matthew Van Winkle played a role in the burglary and theft,” a police statement says.
This is not the rapper’s first run-in with the law. Back in 1991, he was arrested for allegedly pulling a gun on someone in L.A. He was also arrested in 2001 and 2008 following domestic disputes with his then-wife Laura.
