While Bobbi Kristina Brown remains in a medically induced coma, some of her relatives have attempted to cash in on the tragic turn of events.

Certain family members have asked for thousands of dollars in payment, plus other perks like car services and hotel stays, to do press interviews, an insider tells Us Weekly in the new issue.

Multiple Brown family members have spoken out since the 21-year-old music scion — the only child of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston — was found facedown and unresponsive in a bathtub on Jan. 31. Their public updates in the media prompted Bobby to release a statement through his lawyer, slamming information provided by family members about his daughter’s condition.

“At this time it is requested that the media cease speaking with unauthorized members of the family,” family lawyer Christopher Brown told Us last Friday, Feb. 13. “The integrity of the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina must remain uncompromised. Various members of the family have provided media interviews, however, none of them are approved visitors to see Bobbi Kristina. None of them have firsthand knowledge of Bobbi Kristina’s treatment and the medical staff at Emory University Hospital has not communicated with them.”

Meanwhile, inside Emory University Hospital, another battle — also about money — is brewing between Brown and Houston family members. While both families have gathered at the intensive care unit to pray for Bobbi Kristina (affectionately known as “Krissie” by relatives), money has become a “big point of contention,” the insider adds.
